Plottergraphics

After I designed and built a well-functioning pen holder, the question arose as to suitable graphics that could be implemented with it. The following basic criteria must be fulfilled for it:

  • real vector graphics are needed, which can be converted to tool paths with Estlcam (DXF or SVG).
  • areas and variable line widths are not possible (create parallel lines if necessary)
  • the number of paths and especially of empty runs should not be too large

The site DrawingBots lists a great collection of tools that are suitable for the creation of appropriate graphics. Basically you will need a suitable software for editing vector graphics. The top dog so far is Adobe Illustrator, but Affinity Designer or Inkscape are also suitable. And of course you should not forget the procedural generation with Processing. With it, results can be converted to SVG without further effort.
